The benefits of inverting your body are numerous.. especially as we age..
Over time gravity compresses the various internal organs of the human body into forms that inhibit their function. Even with vigorous exercise which does have a very beneficial effect it's important to invert the human body..

So set the stage for maximum benefit from your practice.. before starting, get thoroughly hydrated with warm, hot, or at least tepid water, a cup of coffee or tea is fine.. Just No Cold.. create a nice warm or even hot environment to practice.. muscles and connective tissues can be torn if the body is cold and/or insufficiently hydrated.. Loose fitting clothing..
Once you've completed your Asana practice.. Thank your body for the good work.. then take five or even 10 minutes resting and relaxing in the Death Pose..
