The 80/20
Completely Surreal.. This is my 50th year of coming to So California’s Joshua Tree National Park..
Yet here I am again.. Very thankful to still be pulling on the ‘oh so abrasive’ Ancient Granite.. The reason I continue to come and have a great time along with the now 3 million other annual visitors??
I follow the 80/20 rule.. Vilfredo Pareto’s engineering discovery that 80% of the output is due to 20% of your input/catalyst.. Its application regarding popular NPs? Well, 80% of those visitors barely get out of their cars.. They see only 20% of a parks majestic desert beauty.. leaving 80% of the park to be enjoyed by those willing to walk a mile or two.. Same goes for the 11,000+ rock climbs strewn throughout J Tree.. Most climbers quey up for the most popular 20% leaving the vertical treasure trove of the remaining 80% available for those willing to walk a little…
When you do… It's a whole different experience.. away from the teaming masses…
Oh yes..! Before I forget, please let your congressional representative know America's public lands belong to the public not to [as John Muir, so aptly stated] ‘The Black Calvary of Commerce.. Let’s Stop the Trump administration from selling them.. They are in the process…
Heaven or Hell..? Ascend the rock to the view on top or step into the choya cactus..
Looking north a top Ryan mountain..
American deserts have a very Special Magic that can be found in the winter when it's cold.. that is palpable.. uniquely intoxicating.. Completely rejuvenating.. Go get it.. it's there for your Well Being… Desert heat can be beneficial as well, but for me, I love it when it's cold.. or at least brisk..
Peace..
We Got this…

Wonderful, exhilarating, crystal-clear photographs, even on a very small screen. Thank you.
